A propos de Varagna

Dans une mythologie slave qui n’a pas survécu aux assauts des Vikings, SVAROG (à droite) incarnait le Dieu suprême, celui qui défiait le Ciel et incarnait la Lumière, deux symboles forts dont se nourrit la photographie. Pour rayonner et conquérir le cœur des paysans à qui il promettait la prospérité, SVAROG s’était entouré d’une cour d'animaux prédateurs. Un Ours, des Loups et un rapace : un faucon grâce auquel Svarog parvenait à voir plus loin et plus finement ce qui lui paraissait impossible de voir par lui-même. Un faucon concentrant en quelques centimètres d'envergure tout ce que notre mère nourricière peut accomplir de mieux. Ce faucon s'appelait VARAGNA...

About Varagna

In a Slavic mythology that did not survive the assaults of the Vikings, SVAROG (on the right) embodied the supreme God, the one who defied the Sky and embodied Light, two strong symbols that photography draws upon. To shine and win the hearts of the peasants to whom he promised prosperity, SVAROG surrounded himself with a court of predatory animals. A Bear, Wolves, and a bird of prey: a falcon through which Svarog could see further and more precisely what seemed impossible for him to see on his own. A falcon concentrating in a few centimeters of wingspan all that our mother nurturer can accomplish at best. This falcon was called VARAGNA...
